Investing trends in a post-covid era
This session brings together senior investment professionals across three continents to reflect on the critical issues shaping investment post-covid.

The session will be chaired by Ying Staton, GC’s advisor in Singapore and our previous Head of Asia.

She will be leading a discussion that will cover:
- To what extent will the features which have driven public and private market valuations during covid-19 be sustained after the pandemic has passed?
- Since the financial crisis of 2008, we have lived through an era of low-interest rates and unprecedented versions of QE across the globe. Will investors be able to adapt to a different monetary policy environment as governments have to tackle the debt mountains which have built up during covid-19?
- In the era of easy money, how has the role of VC and PE funds changed, as more and more capital chases the same deals?
- The already strained relationship between China and the US has deteriorated even further during the pandemic, and we are said to be living in an era of “de-globalisation” or “re-globalisation”. How will US investors view backing projects in China? How will Chinese corporates feel about deploying capital in the US? And what will European investors be able to do to take advantage of this new normal?

We will be joined by:
- Philipp Freise, Partner and Co-Head Private Equity, KKR Europe
- David Singer, Managing Partner, Maverick Ventures, USA
- Patrick Zhong, Founding Managing Partner, M31 Capital, China
