Monthly covid-19 policy series with Matthew Swindells and Dr Harpreet Sood
As the UK enters stage 2 of its roadmap out of lockdown on the 12th of April, several European countries are seeing a rise in infections. With the vaccine programme still underway, the UK is starting to consider how to maintain progress against its roadmap, without leading to an uncontrollable uptick of infections or jeopardising immunisation progress to date. However, while non-essential retail and outdoor hospitality is due to resume over the next week, several considerations remain: the role of covid-19 certification, the prospect of reopening international travel, a review on social distancing and the re-starting of large events.

The call will feature a discussion with former deputy CEO of NHS England Matthew Swindells; Health Education England board member and clinician, Dr Harpreet Sood; and Global Counsel’s Senior Associate for Health and Life Sciences Giulia Corsi.

The speakers will discuss:

- Progress on mass testing for people returning to work.
- Key considerations to get to the next stage of reopening on May 17th.
- The impact, if any, on businesses.
